Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of the children and only daughter born to Richard McCormick in 1956 - was born at Woodland Hills (California) on 5 August. Her father was a teacher and her mother was at home. She has three older brothers: Michael, Dennis and Kevin. McCormick began singing and performing at an early stage. She also entertained youngsters in the community. When she was just 6years old, she took home an award called Baby Miss San Fernando Valley. The Jack Wormser Agency then contacted her to inquire if she'd be interested in entering the business of show production. McCormick was chosen for her first big role in 1964. McCormick appeared in a Mattel commercial that starred her doll Baby Pattaburp. The same year, she was featured in an advertisement for the doll of Mattel "Chatty Caty" She was soon cast at the La Jolla Playhouse to play in the character of youngest daughter on the upcoming TV sitcom The Brady Bunch. McCormick, who was one of more than 1,200 children who auditioned was chosen to play the eldest daughter of the three sisters with two heads as part of The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a newlywed family. This show lasted for five seasons. McCormick admitted in her book that was published in 2008, entitled"Here's My Story": The Journey of Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice the fact the fact that Barry Williams was her screen brother. The actress was 16 years young, while the actor was aged 19 at that at the time. "It was going to happen," said the woman, "but it never happened in the perfect time for us."
